It's great to be back!

Just arrived back in Maine after several months in Florida, during which I had a very busy art season. The weather had been a bit on the cool side most of the time which lent itself to lots of painting time.
Oil painting with Virginia Marie Cascarilla at the Von Liebig Art Center in Naples was a delight . Every class was an adventure. Her knowledge of the medium is vast and she was willing to share it. I loved the study we did of Paul Cezanne and Kandinski The field trip to the Naples Museum was so educational and fun. Mental note: go to more museums.
In Cheri Dunnigan's pastel class I learned how to make pastel paper by applying Colorfix to 140 pound watercolor paper that had been heat set.  This will be more affordable then purchasing ready-made pastel paper.
Cheri's class was held at the Bonita Springs Art Center. A fabulous place for art. If you ever get a chance to take a class from Cheri, do so because her teaching style is laid back and most informative.
The Glen Eagle Art Show was held in March with a large crowd attending. As a participant I will say the show  was a big success. It was a wonderful day of visiting with all my GE friends and displaying my art.
It's great to be back in Maine. The weather is not bad... for April.  I attended my pastel class taught by Linda Packard. Linda, I missed coming to your classes. Between the group of people and the great instruction ...it is my favorite place to be. Life is good!
