Indian Point Preserve Pastel Paint Out

Thursday is travel day. Going out to paint is such fun when you can do it with all your artist friends. This week we headed to Ellsworth. The Frenchman's Bay Conservancy has had a trail that overlooks the Union River in Ellsworth. The trail was 1/2 mile through the woods which opened up to a secluded area that overlooked the River. It was an easy hike but the trail was not wide enough to accommodate my wheeled cart...so we carried out things with anticipation of the site. Along the trail were markers that described the local flora and fauna. It was a pleasant place to paint however we had a cloud burst that sent us scrambling to the car.
We then decided to go into town for some lunch...and ended up at Finns Irish Pub. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. Then we headed to the art galleries. The Health Food store gallery in the basement was a surprise that proved to be wonderful. Then we headed to The Court House Gallery. There we found a wonderful display of Maine art. It was a pleasant day in the city of Ellsworth even though we didn't get much painting done.
