Color and Light
In this painting I wanted to capture the light behind the Monhegan Light House. The light was like the birth of some fantastic event that was about to unfold set against this large structure that gives off light to protect the mariners. The contrast of the structure and the light was so compelling for me. Architecture silhouetted against sky....man vs nature, man coexisting with nature.
