This course is designed specifically for artists who are interested in expanding their repertoire of materials and techniques for both their own personal work as well as for class instruction. The course will include how to make one's own paints such as oil, encaustic, egg tempera, watercolors and pastels; how to prepare panels and make one's own stretchers and strainers; how to prepare sizes, glues, grounds, glazes and varnishes. It will also cover the use of traditional painting mediums along with many of the newer acrylic and alkyd mediums, including the safe usage and handling of powdered pigments and how they can enhance one's paintings.
Great workshop for Art Teachers. Certification upon completion.
