The First Right of Spring

This painting is of Fiddleheads. They are a fern that grows along river banks in this State. The tasty greens are harvested this time of year heralding in the Spring. My family grew up on these greens and so we have an affection for them. It is the first sign of spring after a long winter. They are Yummy!
